Swimming Pool Heating Systems

Pool Heat Exchanger | Pool Heat Pump

swimmingpool

With your swimming pool heating needs in mind, we will be restocking with a range of swimming pool heat pumps in the spring of 2009.  If you are using chlorine or a have a salt water pool then you must have a heat pump with a titanium or PVC pool heat exchanger as stainless steel and copper are attacked by chlorine (in a salt water pool electricity is used to strip the chlorine out of the salt).  If you use ozone water treatment then you can use any pool heat exchanger material.

To help you size a swimming pool heat pump remember that the maximum current you can generally take out of standard household wiring is 20 amps or 5kW.  This is enough electricity for about a 20kW output swimming pool heat pump, which will raise a 60,000 litre pool by one degree every three hours.  For more information about setting up or improving your swimming pool heating system, give us a call!
